Two runners from my blackbook have bobbed up at Echuca (transferred Tatura) this Friday and they look good betting propositions.

Race 2 Number 10 Inebriating

After a really smart Flemington jumpout, was scratched from a Warracknabeal meeting to avoid a contest with the talented Fortunate Kiss. Was taken to Adelaide where he faded late after being ridden to contest the lead. Returned to the Flemington jumpouts with another comfortable win. Will be much fitter for the three gallops and finds a pretty moderate maiden here. $2.30 is pretty tight but is more of an indication of lack of competition.

Inebriating winning a Flemington jumpout on the 9th of August.

Suggested bet: Inebriating to win (I wouldn’t be taking anything $2 or shorter)

Race 3 Number 11 Parramatta

This 5yo gelding is only having his second start today after Matt Cumani and owners have shown extreme patience. Purchased for 200k in 2018, was impressive in the jumpouts before his debut in August 2020. Cumani said he was incredibly difficult horse to train, ride and was just an all around head case! Although being well supported in betting on debut, missed the start, pulled up lame and hadn’t been seen since. The stable have stuck fat with him and he looked a calmer and more focused horse in a recent Stawell jumpout. The fact the stable has been so patient tells me they think he has an engine. I think we’re getting a fair price to find out.

Suggested bet: Parramatta each way $12/$3
