It’s finally upon us. The last day of the Flemington Carnival and in my eyes, the end of the Spring Carnival in general. It’s an amazing card of racing that has been served up and all three group one races are terrific contests with the best of the best competing.

Mitchbet has so far delivered a double figure winner on Derby Day (Zennzella), the Melbourne Cup winner at $21 (Gold Trip) and had the best bet and best value salute on Oaks Day (She’s Extreme and Toregene). Hopefully we can end with a bang! Don’t forget to follow @MitchbetAU on twitter and good luck!

Flemington Best Bet: Race 4 Number 11 Soulcombe

Extremely talented import who is an stayer with lofty aspirations. He has three wins from seven race starts all over 2350m. James McDonald was excited to ride this northern hemisphere 3YO but couldn’t get down in weight. He can win this and tighten right up in next years Melbourne Cup market. Hard to beat.

Flemington Next Best Bet: Race 5 Number 4 Atishu

This 5YO mare is on the quick back-up from day one of the carnival and was the eye-catcher in the Group 1 Empire Rose. She’s been competitive in Sydney and is now dropping back in class to this event. Jockey change from Prebble to McDonald is a plus and she’s been well supported since markets have gone up.

Flemington Best Value Bet: Race 2 Number 6 Parisian Dancer

The Archie Alexander-trained grey is the definition of a mare in form. Won impressively at Flemington on preview day then had no right to win on Moe Cup day showing tremendous fight to score. Has an incredible strike rate and gets Mitchbet favourite Declan Bates in the saddle. I don’t think she’s just a “wet tracker” and is a great each way chance.

Race 6: Darley Champions Sprint 1200m 3.50pm
Nature Strip is the deserved favourite here. Has a dominant record at this track and distance and shouldn’t be pestered in the run by an Eduardo type. $2 available is a fair price. Levante is the one for exotics players.

Nature Strip 1, Giga Kick 14, Bella Nipotina 9, Levante 12.

Race 7: Kennedy Champions Mile 1600m 4.30pm
Steering clear of the Cox Plate form here. This looks to be a target race for Cascadian coming down from Sydney. Tuvalu is ultra consistent and loves the track. Mr Brightside is probably the best out of that Cox Plate form line and Private Eye will be exciting to see at 1600m.

Cascadian 3, Tuvalu 8, Mr Brightside 5, Private Eye 2.

Race 8: TAB Champions Stakes 2000m 5.10pm
Anamoe is very hard to oppose here. Godolphin had every right to send him to stud after his Cox Plate victory. They have everything to lose and not much to gain from him backing up again. Must be flying. Hinged has quietly had a very good campaign and is a blowout hope. I’m Thunderstruck was immense in the Cox Plate and thrives at Flemington. Mr Maestro is an exciting runner with the light weight.

Anamoe 7, Hinged 8, I’m Thunderstruck 1, Mr Maestro 11.

Race 9: World Horse Racing Grand Handicap 1100m 5.50pm

Treporti 20, Taunting 6, Linas Legend 7, Picarones 10.
