Best bet: R3 N13 Jaz Tycoon

This gelding by Written Tycoon comes out of a strong form race behind stablemate Tycoon Jenny that was run in track record time. He is suited by the rise in trip and while there are a few likely types in this race, the Eurell stable has been on song of late.

Best value play: R1 N8 The Slap

Allan and Jason Williams train this 4YO debutant who was a $100k Melbourne Premier purchase as a yearling. Progressed really nicely from first to second jumpout this prep. Will probably be midfield or worse in the run but look for him to make his presence felt late if the leaders including Runsir overdo it.

Best roughie: R2 N3 Thorny Path

Matt Cumani and the Rising Sun Syndicate bring their 3YO colt to the Pakenham Synthetic after being slow away at Sandown on debut. Hit the line well enough, will be better for that outing and there has already been a subsequent Metro winner come from that race since. This is a much easier assignment.
